New Surface Line Makes the Earth Move for Microsoft Fans
Microsoft has launched a slew of new devices designed to reshape the
world: the Surface Laptop 3, the Surface Pro 7, the Surface Pro X,
Surface Earbuds, and the upcoming Surface Neo and Surface Duo. "The next
decade will be about creation, and amplifying what we can do as humans,"
said Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella at Microsoft Surface 2019 in New York
City.

eGobbler Malvertising Attack Infects More Than a Billion Ads
Two eGobbler malvertising exploits impacted 1.16 billion programmatic
ads between Aug. 1 and Sept. 23, according to Confiant, which has been
tracking the threat. The first targeted versions of Chrome prior to
Chrome 75 on iOS. The flaw was fixed in the Chrome 75 rollout June 4. he
second exploit impacted WebKit-based browsers. Confiant reported it to
the Chrome and Apple security teams Aug. 7.

Congress Eyes Google's Chrome Encryption Plans
Google's plans to test an encrypted Internet DNS protocol reportedly
have spurred some members of Congress to consider opening an antitrust
investigation. They are concerned that the new technology could give
Google an edge over competitors by making it harder for them to access
consumer data. Google is experimenting with new ways to enhance online
privacy.

A Peek at Our Wireless Future
Last week I attended a Qualcomm event that took me through the coming
wave of both 5G and WiFi 6 products, touched on the millimeter wave, and
at least spoke to 6G. From this I think I can begin to picture the world
as it will exist by the middle of the next decade, and it is kind of
fascinating. Qualcomm has spent nearly $50B -- yes billion -- advancing
its wireless initiatives.

Microsoft is right: Dual displays are a safer bet than folding screens As Devindra Hardawar sees it, while Microsoft’s Surface Neo and Duo may look a bit archaic compared to the Galaxy Fold and Mate X, maybe folding screens are more trouble than they're worth. Google’s Pixel 4 will feature something called a Pixel Neural Core According to the official spec sheet -- obtained by 9to5Google -- we're looking at a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM and up to a 90Hz display. Marked differences between the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are inevitably the screen size (5.7-inch vs 6.3-inch) and battery (2800 mAh vs 3700 mAh). Both offer a choice of 64GB or 128GB storage. Under the processor information, both devices are labeled as having a Pixel Neural Core, which appears to be the new name for the Pixel Visual Core, as found in the Pixel 3. Just don’t expect the service to necessarily save you time getting to and from Manhattan. Uber Copter’s $200 trips to JFK are now available to everyone Uber plans to open up its JFK airport helicopter shuttle service to more people. Now, you won't need to be an Uber Rewards member to check out Uber Copter, reports Reuters. You will need between 200 and 225 bucks, though. That price includes ground transportation on either side of the helicopter flight. While it’s a lot of money to pay to travel between Manhattan and Queens, it’s what you can expect cost-wise from competing services. A Reuters reporter said the trip took about 70 minutes to get from their office in Midtown Manhattan to JFK using Uber Copter -- don’t forget to add the time for public transportation and the two Uber car rides needed to get to and from the heliport.  But wait, there's more... 1. Leaked Audio Reveals Zuckerberg Spinning Hard
An attendee at a two-hour question-and-answer session during a Facebook
company meeting held in July leaked a recording of founder and CEO Mark
Zuckerberg's comments that reveal deep insights into his thinking.
Zuckerberg apparently decided the Q&A format would be an effective way
to rally Facebook employees against rising criticism from competitors
and the U.S. government.

The software development lifecycle reminds me of the proverb of the
three blind people confronting an elephant. One grabs the trunk and says
it's a snake, another touches a tusk and says it's a spear, while the
