Hey, good morning! You look fabulous.

Just as summer begins to fade and the back to school push ramps up, Intel is finally ready to deliver its 10nm, 10th-gen Ice Lake mobile chips. In other news, Burger King’s not-meat Whopper is about to go nationwide, and Twitch’s #1 streamer changed teams.

While Intel's last few processor upgrades felt like incremental steps, the 10th-gen "Ice Lake" hardware seems like a huge leap forward — at least based on their specs. You can expect greater efficiency, faster AI computation, Thunderbolt 3 support for up to four ports and next-generation Wi-Fi 6 connectivity.

The only bad news? More options for embedded graphics means model numbers are getting longer and more mysterious than ever. Check out some early benchmarking action on Upscaled to see just how much faster things can get with the new CPUs.

Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins said in an announcement video that the move is partly about helping him "get back in touch with my roots." There’s no word on a financial arrangement between the two, but separating the streamer from his 14.7 million Twitch followers likely means getting in touch with a lot of guaranteed money. Since the announcement, Ninja has grown his Mixer channel to over 230,000 subscribers.

Inevitable.

Apple suspends the Siri program where people listened to your questions

Last week, The Guardian dug into a program where third-party contractors listened in to anonymized recordings of Apple users asking Siri questions to judge the assistant's responses, and now Apple has shut it down. While it conducts a "thorough" review, it's suspending the program globally -- and  this comes shortly after Google announced it would temporarily shut down a similar effort, but only for users in the EU.

Galaxy Note 10 won't have a headphone jack, according to its leaked dongle

Leaks around Samsung's incoming Galaxy Note 10 have reached the point of revealing dongles that will come with it. In this case, it means a USB-C  dongle that will ensure your 3.5mm headphones will work with your new productivity-focused phone. Yep, it's the final nod that Samsung, one of the great headphone port hold-outs, is joining the pack with only a USB-C connection to do everything on its next flagship phone.

Researchers led by speech neuroscientist Edward Chang at the University

Tesla's Failings Overshadow Its Impressive Successes
Launching a new car company and getting it to global scale doesn't
happen often, and it has been a long time since there has been a
successful launch of one in the United States. Tesla really stands alone

Studebaker failed decades ago, when three auto companies then dominated
the U.S. industry.

The best wireless earbuds we've used so far

It's Thursday, August 01, 2019.

Hey, good morning! You look fabulous.

August is upon us. We’re ready to make the call on the “best true wireless earbuds” around, and Samsung’s next generation of new hardware is starting with its Galaxy Tab S6. Oh, and you can try out the Star Trek holodeck with five friends this fall. Really.

It’s hard to recommend anything else.

Sony WF-1000XM3 review: Simply the best true wireless earbuds

Sony WF-1000XM3 review: Simply the best true wireless earbuds

What makes these $230 earbuds “a hell of a deal,” according to Billy Steele? Excellent sound quality, a full-featured companion app, great battery life, an improved Ambient Sound and active noise cancellation make for an excellent start.

Meet the much-improved keyboard case and stylus.

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S6 refines the 'desktop' experience

Samsung's Galaxy Tab S6 refines the 'desktop' experience

We were already expecting to see Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10 this month, but first, it closed out July with a new tablet. The Galaxy Tab S6 is a 10.1-inch 2-in-1 device (when used with the $179 keyboard case), and even has a trackpad this time around. Similar to the Note series, the Tab’s S Pen has Bluetooth now and works as a remote control, with new wand-like gesture controls that can open apps or toggle switches from a distance. The Tab S6 will be available from September 6th at $649 for the base model, which offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

It could be an answer to Apple's Arcade service.

Google is testing a $5 'Play Pass' subscription for Android apps

Google is testing a $5 'Play Pass' subscription for Android apps

Google is getting further into the service game. Play Pass plans to offer users "hundreds of premium apps and games" for a monthly fee, according to a report from Android Police. The idea cropped up last year after users spotted code references in Google Play. It could be similar to Apple's Arcade, but offer a selection of both apps and games (rather than just the latter) for $4.99 per month, "with no ads or in-app purchases," according to the screenshots.

The service is fully fleshed out and appears to be in the final stages of testing. Google is promising "puzzle games to premium music apps ... [with] access to hundreds of premium apps and games" -- though the emphasis appears to be on games. Some of the titles included are the $7.99 Stardew Valley, Marvel Pinball, Risk and others. A user spotted the test in the wild first, but Google confirmed to Android Police that it is indeed real.
