Keanu Reeves surprised us at E3 2019

The E3 2019 show floor doesn’t open until Tuesday, but things are already in full swing with presentations from Microsoft, EA and Bethesda. We’ve seen everything in gaming that was announced so far, from high-profile (Project Scarlett, Star Wars, George R.R. Martin) to offbeat (Battletoads) to truly unexpected (Keanu Reeves!). Oh, hey, Sephiroth. ‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’ release date: March 3rd, 2020 Tonight Square-Enix will reveal more information about Final Fantasy VII Remake during its press conference at 9 PM ET, but for now, we’ll settle for a release date and new trailer. The PS4 exclusive will arrive five years after it was announced, ready to rebuild and expand upon the original. Plus a new trailer. 'Cyberpunk 2077' comes out next April, and Keanu Reeves is in it CD Projekt Red’s highly anticipated adventure game not only has a release date, (April 16th, 2020), but it also revealed a surprise celebrity appearance: Keanu Reeves. What exactly is he doing in the game? We don’t know yet, but we’re here for it. Four times more powerful than the Xbox One X. Microsoft's Project Scarlett Xbox arrives holiday 2020 With Sony skipping E3 2019, Microsoft took the stage to show how its next-gen box will stack up to the PlayStation 5. Codenamed Project Scarlett, the system is scheduled to launch late next year, packing SSD storage plus a custom variant of AMD's Zen 2 processor architecture with GDDR6 memory, powerful enough to handle 8K resolution, real-time ray tracing and 120 fps performance. And our first chance for a hands-on demo. xCloud game streaming begins in October If Microsoft’s true next-gen gaming competitor is Google instead of Sony, then its xCloud game streaming service will be vital. At E3, the company announced streaming will launch this fall, with gamers able to play their titles (whether owned or included in Game Pass) streamed either from one of its datacenters or their own home Xbox One for free with console streaming. There’s no word yet on pricing for cloud-powered access, but E3 attendees can try streaming Halo 5 or Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice on tablets and phones this week. More rings. 'Halo Infinite' arrives holiday 2020 alongside the new Xbox 343 revealed that Master Chief will once again return to the battlefield just in time for the holidays in 2020. What's more, the game will be a launch title for the upcoming Project Scarlett Xbox system. If you’re not ready to upgrade, you’ll still be able to play, since the plan is for it to support “more platforms than we ever have for a single game,” across every Xbox One and PC. Because we all know most children are space cadets. Using tech to keep your kids organized and on task Gone are the days of trusty Moleskine 18-month planners, scraps of to-do lists and family calendars hanging on the fridge. Full-time jobs and older kids mean more clubs, more appointments, more social life. Making a move to digital organization can take a load off and breathe new life into the family. Maker Faire ceases operations amid financial trouble As reported by TechCrunch, Maker Media, the company responsible for Maker Faires and Make:, has stopped operations and laid off all its staff. Despite its long-lasting impact on the tech industry, the company’s chances had been undermined by the abundance of free online content, CEO Dale Dougherty noted. For now, efforts are under way to keep the online archive and print magazine running. Hate to see it. Soon Tesla will install ‘downgrade’ software on the entry-level Model 3 Customers who pulled the trigger on Tesla's entry-level Model 3 may want to enjoy their car's features to the fullest over the coming days. Those early vehicles shipped with unlocked software that effectively gave owners access to the more expensive Standard Range Plus car. Now, the automaker has started warning customers via email that it's going to limit their vehicle's software and remove their access to the Plus features in the next 10 days. The 14-minute ‘Fallen Order’ gameplay clip is a must-see. Microsoft's new 'Flight Simulator' looks like a wild 4K ride 9. iOS 13 shows locations where apps have tracked you 10. Hulu will stream the first three 'Veronica Mars' seasons starting July 1st 11. FedEx Express kicks Amazon to the curb

That’s about all of the time you have to recover from Apple’s WWDC 2019 event -- really, a $999 monitor stand? -- and get ready for E3. Things will kick off with EA’s Play event that’s scheduled to begin around noon ET, so pick through the Xbox and PlayStation sales carefully before tuning in. But first, let’s look back at a few of Friday’s most interesting stories plus other highlights from throughout the week. Welcome to your weekend. (View in browser.) Quick charge. Tesla's first V3 Supercharging stations are open to the public After some testing with early access customers, eight V3 charging stalls at the factory are open to all Tesla owners and support speeds of up to 250kW. That means owners of long-range Model 3 (which supports charging at that speed) can add 180 miles to their vehicle in 15 minutes. There’s still FedEx Ground. FedEx Express drops Amazon FedEx said it's prepared to serve "thousands" of retailers in the e-commerce space, which it expects to grow from 50 million packages to 100 million packages per day in the US by 2026. As a result, its Express segment will no longer do business with Amazon -- which only represented about 1.3 percent of its 2018 revenue. Interestingly, the move comes just days after Amazon showed off the latest design for its delivery drone that the company expects to start testing within the next few months. No pop-up, no punch-hole, no notch, no nothing. Oppo and Xiaomi show off their under-display selfie cameras  Oppo VP Brian Shen shared a short video clip on Weibo of what appears to be a notch-free prototype smartphone lying on a desk. The camera app was launched, and despite the lack of a visible front-facing camera, the screen still seemingly showed a live view of the room's ceiling. Not to be outdone, Xiaomi prez Lin Bin shared a video clip that was allegedly shot last month, in which an under-screen camera was added to a Mi 9 prototype. "No hole, no notch, no pop-up camera." Walmart's new delivery service will put groceries directly in your fridge Walmart has said it will use "smart entry technology and a proprietary, wearable camera" to gain access to customers' homes. The system will "[allow] customers to control access into their homes and [give] them the ability to watch the deliveries remotely," so even the most security-conscious can keep an eye on their property. The first tests will occur on Chevy Bolt EVs in Michigan later this year. GM and Michelin will bring airless tires to passenger cars by 2024 A mix of composite rubber and resin embedded fiberglass lets Michelin’s Uptis operate at highway speeds -- earlier options tend to work only when you're slowly putting around.
