Facebook has taken down more than 270 pages and accounts operated by the Internet Research Agency, a Russian troll farm, CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Tuesday. IRA trolls and ads were involved in Russia's attempts to interfere with the 2016 United States presidential elections, and the trolls have published hate speech and incitements to violence on their Facebook pages. Curves, Gestures May Be in iPhone's Future Gesture control and a curved body may be in the iPhone's future. Apple has been experimenting with those features for the iPhone, and they could be ready for prime time in two to three years. Gesture control would allow a user to execute tasks without touching the screen. The technology could be used for more than just answering phone calls and opening apps, noted Gartner analyst Tuong Nguyen. [More...] |

Bluestar Linux is one of the few Arch distros that gets the balancing act right. Bluestar Linux is a GNU/Linux distribution that features up-to-date packages, an impressive range of software, and a live desktop DVD. [More...] |

The Danger of Underestimating Your Brand's Value A solid brand is key to business success, but over the years I have seen many companies try to commit suicide by killing the brand identities they spent so many years and so much money creating. Many are now gone. Others are still around, but in a weakened position. You must give the customer a compelling, emotional reason to want to be connected to your company. [More...] |

A solid brand is key to business success, but over the years I have seen
many companies try to commit suicide by killing the brand identities
they spent so many years and so much money creating. Many are now gone.
Others are still around, but in a weakened position. You must give the

Many Small Businesses Take DIY Path to Mobile Apps
Nearly half of all the small businesses that participated in a recent
survey said they handled their mobile application development in house,
in part to cut costs and speed time to deployment. Forty-six percent
used in-house staff to develop critical mobile applications in an effort
to drive new business. Forty-one percent used freelancers or consultants
to develop mobile apps.

Crowd survey eMarketer cited in a report released last month. Seventy-
one percent of 351 U.S. businesses with 500 employees or less used
social media, a Clutch survey found.
